I chose this jasper because the pattern is so unusual. The mix of mustard yellow, olive, grey and earthy green creates a wonderfully detailed stone, with sweeping lines and irregular markings that almost look like a miniature landscape. It has plenty going on, but the muted colours make it very easy to wear.

I’ve kept the setting simple with a 925 silver finish so nothing competes with the jasper itself. The oversized oval shape gives the ring real presence, making it ideal if, like me, you prefer one strong piece of jewellery rather than lots of smaller pieces.

I’d wear this with black, khaki, cream, camel or denim, but it would also look great with mustard and other autumnal shades. Because jasper is a natural stone, the colours and markings vary from one piece to another. That individuality is one of the things I particularly like about working with natural gemstones.

Each ring is handmade with an adjustable band, so it will fit most finger sizes. It is also hypoallergenic, nickel free and suitable for sensitive skin.
